Well considering there are very few charters that venture to Lanai that means there are a lot less people and the reefs have not been spoiled. If you have only one snorkel trip that you can enjoy, please try the Lanai trip, you'll be glad you did. All the Lanai trips depart from Lahaina because it is closer to the Island and doesn't take very long to journey across the channel. For those who are staying in West Maui it is a very short drive to the harbor in Lahaina. For those staying in South Maui it is worth the drive. Most people who look at these dolphin adventures ask if the charter boats will allow you to swim with the dolphins.
