Parasailing

It's your turn now and the crew of the boat leads you up to the launching pad. As you sit down they attach you to the line. Suddenly the boat surges forward and picks up speed and you feel the line pulling out. Then in the blink of and eye you're pulled off the back of the boat and your journey to the outer limits begins. What a feeling as you slowly climb to the full length of the line. Below you the boat churns up the blue waters and the wind flows through your hair. What a feeling, soft and quiet, with sweeping vistas of everything all around you, as you're sailing, parasailing. All of a sudden the boat appears to be getting closer and closer as each second goes by, when like a feather falling onto the floor you land up right where your adventure began. It's that easy!

Anyone can do this, the young, the old, anyone. No experience required. This event is enjoyed every 30 minutes from Lahaina beginning at 8.00am and continuing through the day to 5.00pm. Once you soar above the waters you will want to fly again and again. I guarantee it!

You must be 12 years old to enjoy parasailing as a single flyer at any height. This is a PAPCO ruling and the parasailing charters are bound to the new rules set forth by the governing body of the industry.

Parasailing is Seasonal and only available on Maui from May 16th through December 14th. Advance reservations required. THE NOON DAY SPECIAL AND EARLY BIRDS REQUIRE AT LEAST A 7 DAY ADVANCE RESERVATION. Resrtiction No children under age 6 allowed on the boat. No expecting mothers The recommended age for parasailing is 7 years old. Please consider when scheduling this event. The entire excursion lasts for about 1 hour. The 600' ride last for about 8 minutes. The 800' ride last for about 10 minutes. Weight range 125lb to 350 per ride.

Parasailing:
Remember to wear something that you won't care if it gets wet. Sometimes the parasailing companies have a tendency to do what they call "dipping the wick", which is getting you a little wet. Well at least up to your knees at any rate. Don't be alarmed as it does feel good and the water is very warm.

The parasail boats will also allow one non-flying guest aboard the boat. They also offer to take your picture while you're in the air. I do recommend this as their camera has a very good lens and they have been doing this for a while so the pictures are very good. This service requires an extra fee paid onboard the parasailing boat. You can expect to pay from $20.00 to $25.00 for a roll of film. The pictures are great.

The parasail boats only hold between 6 to 12 people to accommodate larger groups. The best times to fly are in the morning. You can fly either tandem or single the cost is the same and the weight restriction for a tandem is 350 pounds. To fly single (alone) you must weigh at least 125 pounds. Anyone who wishes to parasail that weigh under 125 pounds must fly tandem (with a partner) to meet the weigh requirement.
The magic number to fly alone is 125 pounds.

High Noon Special:
The High Noon Special has been designed to allow you to sleep in and enjoy the morning. You can now enjoy the same reduced price as the Early Birds do. This event departs from either Lahaina Harbor or Kaanapali Beach on the south (Lahaina) side of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. You can walk to the meeting location on Kaanapali Beach from all hotels along the beach path in the main Kaanapali Resort strip. Lahaina:
The check in location for parasailing in Lahaina is slip 15 Lahaina Harbor behind the Banyan Tree.
Times vary through out the day. Usually hourly from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Kaanapali:
The check in the parasailing in Kaanapali is at Hanakao'o Beach Park (Canoe Beach) on the south side of the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

My daughter was 7 when I first took her parasailing and I kind of thought it would be too much for her. Well to make a long story short she laughed the entire time and begs to go as often as she can. Funny huh? Any way we go as often as time allows.
