Goofy Foot Surf School has expanded their lesson times. You can now enjoy Maui surfing lessons at 7:00am, 8:30am, 10:00am, 11:30am or 1:00pm through the summer.
Each surf lesson is 2 hours.
Each Stand up paddle lesson is 90 minutes.

No Children Under 9 May Surf

Goofy Foot Surf School provides a safe personal surfing lesson for the beginner. It's not hard and all the surf lessons are guaranteed. This means you will "surf da wave". Goofy Foot Surf School is located in Lahaina at 505 front Street. The surf spot is just around the corner from the "Surf Shop" and is a proven surf location for the beginner.

Goofy Foot has been surfing for over 10 years and have provided safe surf instructions to thousands of students. All the lesson are guaranteed!

This is how Goofy Foot Surf School works. Check in is 30 minutes prior to the lesson at the surf shop in Lahaina located at 505 Front Street. The lesson begins with the instructor teaching you how to paddle your board and set up for the wave. This takes place on the beach. All of Goofy Foot's instructors are certified surf instructors. When the instructor feels that you are ready, then it's time to "catch da wave".
Stand Up Paddle:
Smalls groups of 4 per instructor.
Takes 2 stand up paddlers to confirm a lesson
A recent addition to Hawaii surfing is stand up paddle. This has caught on with all age groups. A relaxing way to enjoy the calm water of ocean on a flat wave day, or inside the surf break. Goofy Foot Surf School offers stand up paddle lessons in the Lahaina Lagoon in front of their surf shop where the soft currents and smooth surface provide a perfect condition to learn.
Stand up Paddle is an individual water sport that uses a style of paddling similar to that of the outrigger canoe, but you stand upright on a specially designed board and utilize an elongated paddle. Stand up paddle is easy to get hooked on, so don't be surprised if you find yourself liking it quite a bit!

Surf Tips
First time surfers will learn on a long board that will provide the novice with a little more stability in the water. Since the long boards are longer and little wider there is more foot room on the board for the beginner to become accustomed to standing up on the surf board. The surf lessons provide an insight into some of the issues that a novice would not pick up on their own. Balancing yourself while rising to your feet and the steps to take to remain on the board are just a few of the helpful hints that the lesson will provide you with that will ensure your experience is one that is safe and fun. Who knows, you may want to learn to ride the bigger waves after this.
